02/22/2018 – 02/25/2018
Went down to Oceanside and camped at Guajome Regional Park with some friends. Did not like the weather. Thursday was nice but the rest of the time we had wind, rain, and cold. Did a little hiking – maybe three miles – but mostly hung around and took it easy. A lot of discussion about footwear. I like the Merrell hiking boot but switched to a Red Wing work boot, commonly known as a Wellington work boot, after sundown. The Red Wing is insulated and therefore keeps my feet warmer than the Merrell hiking boots.

02/072018 – 02/11/2018
Took a short trip to the Santa Monica / Malibu area to take advantage of the warm weather. I did the Santa Monica Stairs four times on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday I did the Pacific Palisades Stairs and the Parker Mesa Overlook in the Topanga State Park. On Friday I went to Zuma Beach and did some easy hike up a bluff to a rock formation. I did see a pod of Dolphins swimming off the coast. A little sun on Friday afternoon but mostly fog and clouds – time to return to the desert.
I did not get to Murphy Ranch Trail.

Like Dolphins?
